Man… Am I tired! I just got back from a long weekend of snowboarding in Whistler for the first time. I’ll also be flying out again to Denver this coming weekend. You might be wondering why all of the traveling? Well, it’s a goal of mine this season to hit up all the West Coast Vail Resorts on the Epic Pass. I only have three more resorts to go and they all happen to be in Colorado. So, if all the stars are aligned for me, I will finish my goal by this weekend!
Don’t white boots automatically remind you of the 70s? Well, they can definitely be worn today and I actually think they are a staple during the winter months. It’s something nice, bright, and unexpected instead of your usual dark and dreary colors. They easily go great with light-colored jeans, mini skirts, and sweater dresses. If you want to look fashionable super quick without even thinking, definitely reach for the white boots.
For this post, I want to introduce you to one of my favorite brands, Lavish Alice. It’s a UK based label that I’ve been in love with the past year. What really attracted me was the simple yet modern design, clean silhouette, bold colors, and ultra femininity. Most of all, I like that fact that it’s constructed of quality material vs. cheap thin fabric. All around, Lavish Alice’s clothes just feels more luxurious. You can find their label on sites like ASOS or Revolve, but I have found that it’s cheaper to buy straight from their website (even with the international shipping fee) when they have sales or markdowns. Lavish Alice isn’t really made for a petite person, but I have definitely found more than a few items that I can work with. This black dress being one of them.
If there is one thing I love more than Las Vegas, it’s Yves Saint Laurent! I have always been a fan of the tuxedo-style suit on women so I was ecstatic when I found out that YSL was the original designer of the look. The look is called “Le Smoking” and to this day, versions of it is still being sold in stores. The average YSL Le Smoking Jacket already starts at almost $3k. Of course, I cannot afford the “real” Le Smoking suit so I decided to recreate this look for less. I mean way less!
It’s so nice sometimes to just put one or two things on and you are ready to go. That’s why I think the chunky sweater dress is the ultimate staple for fall and winter. It’s also versatile enough to wear from day to night. To help keep your legs warm, I recommend pairing it with some over-the-knee boots like the Hiline boots from Stuart Weitzman if you know you will be staying out until the evening. I also would add a thick belt to make the dress a little more flattering at the waist.
