I know most people consider Labor Day Weekend to be the last weekend of summer, but there’s no way that can work in Southern California. We are still getting days in the mid-80s and even higher if you go inland. As is the case with our recent Palm Springs trip. It was easily 105+ F during the day! So, of course you have to dress appropriately and this darling floral cutout midi dress was perfect for our night out.
When I have time and I’m feeling really motivated, I love going to the Flower District in Downtown LA to buy flowers and make my own arrangements. I’ve done it a couple times for the holidays, but we decided to go here this time because it was my new boss’ birthday and I wanted to make something special for her.
Lord & Taylor Design Lab Yellow Tiered Pleated Dress (XS – On Sale!) • Marc Fisher Sandals (Sz 6.5 – On Sale!) • ASOS Clear Clutch (Sold Out) • Gold Hoop Earrings (On Sale!) • Quay Sunglasses (On Sale!)
I’m really excited to bring this blog post to you today because my whole outfit happens to be on sale! Well, ALMOST since my clear clutch is technically sold out. Either way, there’s nothing better than getting a new outfit than getting it all on sale. Knowing that Hawaii is so hot and humid, I thought this little yellow tiered pleated dress would be a great piece to bring along on our trip.
As you can see, I cannot get enough of flowy dresses especially when in Hawaii. The weather is so hot and humid that I just want to wear the loosest thing possible. This beautiful emerald green tiered midi sundress by ASOS literally had me giddy the first time I tried it on. It’s so soft, comfortable, and roomy that I wanted to wear it everyday on vacation.
One of my go-to fabrics for the summer has to be linen. The material is super breathable and is very lightweight. This stripe linen dress from Miss Selfridge was a clear choice to wear on our small road trip up to the North Shore. It is super comfortable and loose-fitting. It’s great as a casual dress or it can be used as a cover-up after a day on the beach.
