Is it just me or Christmas is never a one-day type of deal? I feel like it is always a couple weeks long. There are so many get-togethers and holiday parties that it can last well past the new year. Therefore, today’s blog post is dedicated to a fun holiday look that I wore to a recent girlfriend’s Friendsgiving party. I love how the green velvet midi skirt gives the whole outfit a festive feel without being too much over the top.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you would have seen pictures of our most recent trip to Santa Barbara. We took these fun holiday photos in a cute little historic alley called La Arcada. It was decked out with beautiful Christmas decorations and all kinds of twinkle lights. There was even a live turtle pond which was a fun surprise. Has anyone else been here?
Boohoo Green Velvet Midi Skirt (Sz 4) Similar Here: I loved this skirt so much that I actually bought it a size too big. I should have gotten a size 2, but the size 4 was one of the only sizes left. Hopefully, one day I’ll break out my sewing machine and fix the waist, but for now, my laziness is getting the best of me. The deep emerald green color is what really drew me to buy it. I also love that it’s velvet material. I don’t own anything velvet and I thought this would be a nice piece to start with.
Old Off-The-Shoulder Top (S) Similar Here: This is an old off-the-shoulder top that I’ve had for a while. It’s a nice change from my usual black turtleneck that I’ve been wearing a lot lately. My only complaint is that it’s a little cumbersome when eating dinner since you are moving your arm a lot, the top tends to ride up and over my shoulders.
ASOS Design Beret: Lately, I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone and wear more hats. I’ve always wanted to be one of those people that could pull off wearing a beret so I gave it a shot. I ended up buying this ASOS Design beret. It was also on sale during Black Friday so my frugal side liked this decision as well. I wanted to give the beret a little sparkle since it is the holidays after all. So, I decided to add my Chanel pin to it. You’ve probably seen this pin all over my blog, but it’s because it’s my favorite piece of jewelry. You can wear it on your blouse, coat, hat, purse, etc. It is literally the most versatile piece of jewelry I own.
Steve Madden Daisie Pumps (Sz 6.5): This shoe literally gave me nightmares. I originally bought a size 6.5 and it was way too tight. Then I ordered the size 7 and it was too big. My foot kept slipping out of it, but it was way more comfortable than the 6.5. In the end, I decided on the 6.5 because I’m hoping they’ll stretch over time. Well, that was about a month ago and I’ve worn them about 4-5 times since. It’s still a little too tight, but I can feel it loosening up a bit. Hopefully with another 4-5 times of wear, it’ll be perfect. Fingers crossed!
