Last weekend, one of my co-workers emailed me this event called the Carré Club that Hermes was hosting here in Los Angeles. She went to the one in New York and said that it was really fun and I should check it out. Of course, I couldn’t give up the chance to see what it was all about right?!
The Carré Club is a traveling pop-up shop that highlights Hermès’ famous scarves and the artists that are behind the designs. It has already been to New York, Toronto, Singapore and now Los Angeles. The next stop will be in Milan, Italy. It started last Thursday and lasted for four days. I couldn’t make it out there until the last day, but I think it ended up being better. It wasn’t crowded, but just enough people that you’ll get your chance to talk and interact with the artists. There was also a coffee/candy bar, a coloring station, a live stage, a Carréoke room for singing, an animated photo booth, etc. The best part about all this was that if was a FREE event!
I do have to give a shout-out to the Carré Club staff who were so friendly and welcoming. Having such a high-end designer brand like Hermès host a pop-up (a free one at that), one would think that there might be a air of snootiness, but it was the total opposite! Staff went out of their way to talk to us and make sure we were having a good time. I think Hermès is really trying to be more approachable to the younger crowd and I would say that this event really worked for them. I always thought Hermès’ scarves were for the older crowd, but now I actually see younger people wearing and styling them in a more fun and modern way.
Did anyone else get to experience the Carré Club? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! As for now, enough with the chit chat and on to the pictures!
