One of my favorite ways to style outfits is to mix and match affordable pieces of clothing with luxury accessories. It’s a great way to look expensive without actually spending the money on designer clothes. I’m definitely not making that type of money yet to be spending thousands of dollars on just fabric, but maybe one day. We can always dream right?
For this outfit, I wanted to go more classic “American sportswear.” For people new to the term, it is a category that consists of more relax and causal wear made up of interchangeable separates. It was said to be invented out of necessity to accommodate the increasing fast-paced lifestyle of American women. That’s exactly what I imagined when I saw these high waisted pants. Also, I thought if we are going to do American sportswear, then why not go full patriotic with my colors. White blouse, navy pants, and red purse!
H&M White Ruffle Shirt (2): I always love a clean crisp white blouse. Especially this one since it has a little bit of ruffle detailing on the sleeves. I tried on a Sz 2 and 4 and the Sz 2 fit the best.
ASOS Petite High Waisted Pants (2): They sold out of the petite version, but there is the regular version still on sale in the link above. I’m not a fan of high waisted pants but I like these ones a lot because they cinch really high up so it accentuates your waist. I also love the belt detail since it wraps around twice. On the other had, I probably won’t like it when I have to go to the bathroom.
River Island Sandals (US 6): These are some of my favorite white heel sandals. I wanted to wear them with this outfit specifically since the pants were short enough to showcase the heels. These are also sold out, but I’ve linked a similar pair above that I think will go great with this outfit too.
Mango Crossbody Chain Purse: You probably already know this, but I can’t resist a pop of color! The color red on this purse is absolutely stunning. It went perfectly with my patriotic theme that I was trying to go for. One thing that I do have to say about this purse is that it is not made to be worn on your shoulder (like I’m doing in the pictures). It kept falling off so if you are going to wear this purse, I would definitely wear it crossbody style.
Chanel Brooch: I would dare to say that no jewelry is as classic as a Double “C” Chanel brooch. This is probably one of my favorite pieces of jewelry I own and it makes me smile everyday. The shirt itself was on the more simple side so I thought the brooch would give the top a little bit more sparkle.
