On our last night in Singapore, Mother Nature gave us the most beautiful blue skies and an amazing golden sunset. The weather was just right where it was hot during the day, but it steadily stayed warm throughout the night. It was the type of weather where you can actually go out in let’s say, a floral mini dress and not ever feel cold.
The way I decided to style this outfit was really out of necessity. The dress itself is too long so I took a skinny black belt and did the old cinch trick. For those who don’t know, all of my dresses that are a little too long, I always take a skinny belt and secure it around my waist. Then I pull some of the fabric over the top of the belt so the dress magically becomes shorter. I like this trick because it gives some shape to the dress as well. I also wanted my legs to look longer so my nude wedges were to the rescue!
On a side note, I can’t even begin to tell you what a hectic week I’ve had! Sometimes I feel like there’s so much to do that I can never finish it all. Not only do I have my full-time job and this blog to take care of, but I’m taking extra classes at UCLA Extension to further my career. Back in my grad school days, I thought going to school full-time was hard. Now that I’m working, I have to say going to work AND going to school is even harder. I’m so tired by the end of the day that I can’t even crack open a single book.
H&M Floral Mini Dress (Sz 2): This dress was probably my favorite out of the whole trip. I love all the ruffles and the fact that it was super comfortable and flowy made it even better. When I first purchased it, I got the Sz 2 and Sz 4 again to see which one fit better. I decided to go with the Sz 2.
If you’ve been reading my other posts, you would probably know that I have a love-hate relationship with H&M. Their sizing is so off for me that I have to buy/try two or three of everything. Well, I’m starting to think anything that is loose, I’m probably good with a Sz 2, but anything that seems more fitted will have to be a Sz 4. I will let you know if this theory of mine holds true!
Nude Wedges (Sz 6.5): Neutral color wedges are one of my favorite things to wear during the spring and summer. Not only does it give you the extra height, but since it’s also a nude color, it makes your legs look even longer.
