Can you tell that I’m excited that Christmas is almost here?! I don’t know what about red plaid makes me automatically think of the slopes and the holiday season. Maybe it has something to do with the Brawny Towel Man???… I seriously hope people know what I’m referring to…

Last weekend, we decided to brave the crowds at The Grove (an outdoor mall) so we can eat some brunch and get our Christmas shopping done all at the same time. 189 by Dominique Ansel just opened up and we wanted to check it out since we’re big fans of the Cronut. The restaurant is located on the second floor, but they have you strategically enter through the bakery on the ground floor first. We were excited since we heard that the service was set up like a dim sum restaurant where servers come around your table with already prepared food and you just have to say yes or no.

At first, I thought this was a pretty big gimmick. I was afraid that it was going to be cold by the time it got to the table, but everything actually came out pretty fresh and regularly. The best part is that there is immediate satisfaction. You literally get to eat right away!

I highly recommend the fried chicken and biscuits. Be aware though that there is a white meat and dark meat option so you should specify or they’ll just give you whatever they want. My only complaint would be is that since it’s dim sum style, the waiters do come to your table often so it doesn’t make for a great date setting. Also, if you want the infamous Cronut, they do not serve it at the restaurant. They only have it downstairs in the bakery and I highly suggest you get there sooner than later. We arrived around 1:30pm and literally had the “sold out” sign put in our faces. So short story, we will be back!

So, now about the clothes!…

Banana Republic Factory Classic Plaid (PXS): I’ve collected a bunch of plaid/flannel shirts over the years, but I think this might be one of my favorites. The color is so bright and vibrant. I first tried on the PXXS, but the sleeves were too short and it was too tight to fold up passed the elbows. The fit was perfect around the body, but opted for the PXS anyways since short sleeves are a pet-peeve of mine.

F21 Leggings (S): My definite go-to pair of leggings. Especially since they are so affordable! I did go a size up from XS to S because the XS seemed to stretch out more making it almost see through. Be aware that these do pool at the ankles. It doesn’t really bother me though since my boots will usually cover it anyways.

Lauren Conrad Booties (Sz 6.5): I just got this pair this season and I absolutely love the color. LC usually has pretty fun booties and I will usually look there first since they are reasonably priced. My only complaint would be that the top of the shoe does rub up against the back of my ankle. So it does get a little bit annoying if I’m walking a lot.

Mango Crossbody Tote: This is an old bag from last season, but it’s one of my favorites. It looks so clean and modern. You can wear it on your arm, your shoulder, or even have it cross-body style.
